We are looking for a VB Script Programmer

We are Jumping Bean Studios www.jumpingbeanstudios.com a new, multi-national team of artists, designers, animators and musicians dedicated to producing fun, non-violent, educational adventure and roll playing games for children of all ages.

We are presently looking for a VB Script Game Programmer. We are looking for someone who has experience with or is willing to learn Adventure Maker. AM’s website is - www.adventuremaker.com the programming language used by AM is VB Scripting (easy to learn I am told).

This is not a full-time or even part-time position at this point. We are looking for a special person to volunteer a few hours per week to start. You will get the chance to work alongside other talented people and develop and express your skills. You can work out of your home anywhere in the world.

If you have the right attitude and enjoy working as a team, we would be willing to offer you a percentage of the profits. If you have the right skills and show that you are truly “Bean Team Material” we would be willing to offer you a partnership in the company.

When you apply please show us your portfolio, games you have worked on if any. Also tell us about yourself including age, where you live, occupation, a short biography and the number of hours per week you can volunteer. Submit your portfolio to me at futographer@cox.net

Thank you for your interest
Please forward this to anyone who you think might be interested.

I would suggest you find a programmer who knows a decent language such as C++, and preferably a graphics library such as DirectX or OpenGL, and is therefore not reliant on "gamemakers" such as this one. Such things are generally limiting as to what you can do with them, and if you are trying to create a game with commercial value, you'll quickly find yourself hitting barriers you didn't know existed because of the language and development environment.

Ooble's right, you're much better going down the C route like most serious companies nowadays, rather than locking yourselves into dead-end proprietery software. You'll also find that most smaller development teams are made up of more programmers than artists: otherwise you'll experience a bottleneck in the form of a sleep deprived one-man-software company.

Good luck, though you might want to try posting this in the VBScript forum, if you haven't already.
