I believe what Rory meant was that by showing the dude the "Step" keyword, he would be able to figure out how to jump two, etc.

yeah, for sure man. You gots to show the whole thing when explaining it. Also, putting the step in all the time doesn't slow down anything, so who cares?

Rory,
The only reason I posted after you was because there was no new information or reason IMO for your post. I made a simple comment for the benefit of a newcomer to VB. You ended your post with "valid point". Just thought I would explain. Ooble, I already knew you would respond. What else is new? ![]() Pizentios, Thank you for your intelligent synopsis. I hadn't realized that we don't particularly care if we are teaching the correct methods and that bloating code for no apparent reason is a good skill to pursue. My post wasn't meant to be offensive nor was it an attack against you. I just pointed out an obvious observation as anyone else at this forum would do in any other post. Good day to you all.

Its good to show step, although un-needed if incrementing by one.
I actually forgot about the step keyword... so it goes to show that I'm finally leaving the hells of VB ![]()

Hi Rory,
I think you deserve an explanation and hopefully this will end here. First off, I think you are an awesome VB programmer and a great asset to this site. I was only slightly irritated . From the first day I joined this site I felt I was under attack every time I posted. Whether I was right or not was not a concern. Always some smart*** comments or contradictions even if they didn't make sense. I usually stick to the Assembly section for this very reason. I thought this would be a good community to 'talk shop' and was bombarded from day one. So this is why I defend myself now. I am not angry with anyone. I am slightly annoyed with useless posts (especially concerning legitimate requests for help) but hey, this isn't my site. I know several languages and choose not to answer questions in the other categories. I haven't the time nor energy to continue defending already valid points. As you can see post count isn't of particular interest to me. One final comment, in good humor. IR, "It's good to show step" I give up... ![]()
