Wow, thanks. I already knew this, but you'll probably help someone else who didn't.
If you don't want to bow down to the evil empire, there's always dev-c++ or eclipse. |

I read all about what it can do, but my question is, what can't it do that actual product can?

it can do everything, just it's free!!! It's just in the beta testing stage. Apparently there are quite a few bugs in it, but it shouldn't be too much of a hindurance...

It still saves you buying the real thing. Surely it doesn't matter if it's for "Hobbyists" or not, if it does the job, it does the job... I don't see what the problem is

I'm a hobbyist, but I still want my program to be able to be designed the same as a profesional would want to do it.

It's exactly the same program as far as i'm aware. they just stick names on it to try to get people to actually buy it, saying "I'm a professional!!!"
I might've said free visual c++ but i can only offer what's on the site, take it or leave it

Im really not much of a fan of visual studio express, i cant even figure out how to make win32 apis in it, and all the console programs use diffrent header files than the standard ones, as far as I know anyways, I wasnt able to successfuly include the iostream using any possible method...
