Hehe, hey only 6 months later. I kinda got used to doing it the way I was, as noted upthread, and figured it wasn't a "live" topic with many options other than going with another shell.

So anyway, thanks for the extra replies. I'll play with xcopy switches and see. Didn't investigate much since I'd read only remarks that it was bascially a copy/delete function which is far slower and far more drive wear than necessary.
