None really, apart from improved ADO integration, though ODBC is available through the data source property built in to VB. I would suggest coding yourself: it's not complicated and reduces compatibility issues; also to use the data objects the user needs some out of date ocx files.

They were originally designed for Forms 1; I never use them personally.
