Hello,and a question....

Hi, i just registered.

Im not totally new to programming i have some delphi knowledge but it was only very basic delphi, i just want to ask. What is the best programming language for these things:

-Making programs (im no too bothered about this)
-Making both 2d and 3d games
-Making online games.

The bottom 2 i am mainly interested in.

Thanks

Probably Java or Flash for online games. Welcome to the forums.

It is. Most multiplayer games, including MMORPGs, are actually written in C++ - multiplayer browser games such as Runescape are usually written in Java and Flash.

C/C++ isn't too bad to learn as a first language. Making games with it might take a while. Java is slightly easier to learn, in my opinion, because of the exclusion of pointers, and it'll probably be easier to make online games with Java (I'm assuming this is going to be a game that you can play off of a website. If you're thinking about making something like Diablo II, Starcraft, or World of Warcraft, definitely go C/C++).
