Hi, and a question about cost of running a program

Hi just registered here

I'd need to know what causes the cost of running a program. Often you here talk about CPU-minutes that costs about 50€/min. What all things are considered in that 50€. Personnel? or what

Hopefully you understand what I'm talking about. This all is leading to code-optimization, but now all I need to is the cost of running a program.

Usually when CPU usage is metered it is metered by the number of CPU cycles that were used to execute an application for you. IBM actually proposed a virtual server solution which used cycle metering to charge their clients, an innovative... but not very widely accepted solution.

Of course I am sure there are otherways to measure CPU usage...
