Hello!

Hi all!

My name is Joćo Oliveira and I'm from Portugal. I have no programing experience at all, and I came to this forum 'cause I was hopping you guys could help me out starting off.

I read an article called "learn programming in ten years" that talked about how one can't learn programming in one week from a book. That made sence, so I'm hoping that you could help me get started (since I'm a bit clueless and all).

Anyway, that's just about it. Programming is one thing I always wanted to learn and now I decided to do something about it, so I help you can help me with it...

I'm between OSs. I'm also trying to get around Linux (can't decide between Fedora Core 3, and Slackware) but as far as I know they come with a compiler for c++, right?

Anyway, ain't c++ a bit too hard for a beginner? I'm beginning at everything, I feel like when I was 8 and started to meddle with MS-Dos.... lol

Anyway, what abou learning material for the programming language?

Lightbulb Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah

I basically started off with c++, took me a while at first, but after a while I started seeing that what I was doing is extreemly basic, just make it as simple as you can in your head and don't confuse yourself or you might spend 2 weeks re-reading one page of your book like I did
:p
