i was temped to just do it this morning, but then i had a few calls come in that couldn't be put on hold.

I was tempted... but I wanted him to at least try it first.... otherwise he would not have learned anything.

Actually my bad, I thought this was BASH scripting only, I did not see the rest of it. My main point is that it is very uncommon to see bash on a Windows system

Linux guys always have Bash on a Windows system.

(trust me, I know :-).)
