Hey all
I'm setting up a little script that displays pictures that are stored in a tree in my DocumentRoot on my server. Yesterday i wrote a script that uploads new photos into a new directory, and creates thumbnails of the images to be used in the script. I am using the html
<input type="file">
to upload the files, and it works fine. The problem i have with it is that it is rather slow, process consuming, and i have a hard time uploading batches of files, or an entire album to put it in this context. Now before i start coding a way at finding a different method (maybe FTP) I thought i'd post to see if anybody had any ideas on how to upload a bunch of files in an easy, quick way.
Any ideas are appreciated.

Sadly, there is no real quick way. What you seem to have is pretty much then best that you are going to get.

hmm, i'm tempted to write a designated server/client pair to handle this request. CGI might be able to help me better.

thanks

It will always be slow as most home internet connections have terrible upload speeds.

very true, but also because uploading 10MB of files over the http protocol manages to slow apache and my server down considerably, which doesn't happen over NFS or any other protocol. I'm really not sure what exactly is causing the slow-down, but it's quite annoying.
