How do i view what's stored in my RAM?

Hello

I was wandering if there was a way that i could access my RAM under windows xp, and view EVERYTHING that's stored in it.

for example, if i made a simple program in c++, and declared a variable, int a = 20;

I want to be able to actually see this information in my RAM.

And also, im pretty good with hexcedecimal, binary, and octal bases. Like, i know how to convert them and stuff, so numbers dont really bother me. And i guess ill have to manipulate a lot of them if i wanna play with my RAM

So, is this possible??
Would i have to write a custom program to do this?
Would it be possible for me to actually modify the data that's stored in the RAM?

Im running windows xp Pro.
Thanks!!

well im not completely sure this is possible, unless you were in kernel mode and tried to read all addresses from 0x00000000 to 0xFFFFFFFF but you'd crash cause of protected memory

Re: How do i view what's stored in my RAM?

Well, is it at least possible to look at the values of specific adresses?
for example, how would i proceed if i wanted to know what's stored in 0xA347

Or even better, would it be possible for me to retrieve all the memory adresses that a particular program is using up, and view the values of all the adresses?

Thanks!

hello there,
actualy there is one big "harvester" which makes all things listed by you (and much more)- WinHex, unregistered ver. allows you to view ram address, and upon registration you get access to editing its value.

Have fun!

I'm curious what the intent is. Given that any process might be paging in and out, you'll have to know ahead of time what parts of memory map to what processes to (IMHO) make much use of the data.

Re: How do i view what's stored in my RAM?

I'd almost say the spammers are getting smarter. This smells a lot like the spams from a while back, one user asks if this can be done, another user waits a while then spams a product. Back then, they didn't pay attention to posts or join date, now, they have one with a few posts but still the answer comes from a brand spanking new user. And how did suni3mo know where to advertise is my question.

If you'll notice though, still starting off the spam with a hello there and ending with some ridiculously benign message to don't worry be happy.

Hervens has been at PFO for a while now, and wouldn't have posted that to incite spam. It's either purely a coincidence or suni3mo has been doing his research. In the latter case, the spam is legitimate as it is truly related to the OP's question.

Re: How do i view what's stored in my RAM?

Jabo, are you actually accusing me of spamming?
The reason that i asked this question here, is that yesterday in my programming class( finally made it to college), the teacher talked about data structures, and explained how java stores information on the ram, etc.

I asked him the same question, and he wasn't able to answer me, so i thought i could've gotten some help here.

As for suni3mo, i haven't tried the program yet, but thanks a lot, and welcome to the community.

I'm simply stating the resemblance to the pattern the spammers used previously.
