Re: How to make a programming language

Oh wow, I'm not even sure where to start on this. It's nice that you have a name for it, but it's not as easy as you imagine. Google 'Lexical analyzer', which is large part of creating a programming language, to get a feel for it.
Why would you want to create a new language anyway? Have you mastered all existing ones and decided that none fit your needs? People who create new programming languages usually have years of experience in the field.

Re: How to make a programming language

Maybe you should work on the English language before learning/creating a computer language.

Is that Irony I smell?

BTW, you don't shorten your sentences; you run them altogether making one huge sentence out of a paragraph or two.

People are a lot smarter than computers. They can see some stupid shit that someone wrote, see it doesn't make sense, and mentally fill in the blanks and/or correct mistakes to figure out what the person meant, or at least likely meant.

Computers, on the other hand, tend not to do this. If you're writing a program, and you misspell things or 'shorten' them just because it's too much typing, the compiler won't have a clue what you're trying to say. If you want to write your own compiler (sorry, 'programming language'), you will need to be even more vigilant about correct spelling and grammar. Though the rules of programming languages are for the most part different than natural languages, they are no less strict. In fact, in almost all cases, they are much more strict. If you can't understand this, you're not going to have any success in programming, period.

i don't know, gt8ost4l.

are you mathematician? what languages do you already know? If you don't know already the fundamental concepts of programming i'd suggest learning them before designing a language; otherwise you might find it would be like trying write a japanese dictionary.

And without any knowledge of Japanese, at that.
