Is it right to have your child baptised?

What are your views on this?

I think parents have a right to do this but really they should wait until the child is old enough to decide for themselves if they want to do this! (Why take that right from them just cause the parants want it done??)

Doesnt seem fair doing it right @ birth........

It would depend on you religion. If you don't understand why parents do that then maybe you need to attend church more often.

Of course you need to be baptised when you're little ... it's a bit harder to be manipulated later

I liked it when programmingforums discussed programming issues, or at least remotely related ones.

I think parents should also wait and let their children name themselves. Fortunately both those things can be changed. Names can be changed legally, and anyone can denouce their faith.

Re: Is it right to have your child baptised?

Some families baptise not for religion, but for family traditions instead. my family is not religious at all, I was still chrisened catholic (I hope that's how you spell it).
