Man I hate hackers. More so script kiddies, couple of wannabe Neo from the matrix type of kiddies probably.

keep in mind the difference between hackers and crakers and hte true meaning of the word hacker/hack/hacking.

No, they're on the same server. blud explained all this to me yesterday. If the hackers know that the backups are on the server they've compromised, then they'll just delete them and leave. However, if the backups aren't on the server, they're going to keep breaking into your other servers until they find the backups. Heck, they'll even physically break into the data center where the servers are stored in just to get your backups. See, this way, it's much safer. Sorta like not locking your car so that burglars don't damage it when they decide to break into it.
