Advice Open Source Gui App

Hello, can anyone give me advice about open source GUI Designer in c++(i don't know what's the right term) I've read QT is good but i am not so sure about i, Ive used Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 and i i like the way it runs, Can anyone give me some advice? thank you very much

You shouldn't use VC++ 6.0 any more because 1) its too old, 2) it doesn't support c++ very well, 3) its been upgraded several times. Get VC++ 2008 Express because its free.

QT is portable between *nix and MS-Windows (might be to MAC too, I don't know). VC++ is not. Which to use depends on whether you want portability or not.

If you intend to write games then OpenGL might be a better choice.

I see...tnx... so it depends on portability... Qt is much portable than MS VISUAL STUDIO... but in terms of the usage?... what i mean is the "Easy to use" factor? which one weighs more?

I would vote for QT being easier to use

Thanks again Ancient Dragon, one more thing, can u suggest any software similar to QT, ive searched the net and one thing I've found is GTK+? is GTK+ that good? or QT is above GTK?
