BASIC used to be a good language for newbies, but if I were you, I would go with something a bit more useful. Try Python or C++.

They're harder than Basic, in my opinion, but regardless of which language you pick, the first programming language is going to be a little hard to learn. C/C++, and Python are a lot more useful. Once you pick up your first programming language, you will be able to breeze through learning most of the others.

C++ and Python are languages actually used in the industry. BASIC, while good for learning, is crap for anything else. By learning a language such as C++, you'll understand more about programming. Python's also brilliant for complete newbies - maybe someone here can recommend some reading material. And they're not easy, but as with everything, the first steps are the hardest.

basic wouldnt be so bad if you put it to use in visual basic cause that is a big industry language still and will be for a good time to come but i recommend vb.net as that is growing like mad
![]() that is if you want to stick with the basic route but be prepared to spend some good money ![]()
