Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone has come across a good simulator for any x86 MPU's.

I have been googling off and on for a little while and I haven found anything. I don't really know my options as of yet. On my laptop (my only computer right now) I have an intel pentium M. I was trying not to poke around with it just because I am not used to the uncontrolled system. I mean, if I make a mistake I could potentially brick my system, that is something I do not want to do. If anyone has any suggestions please reply.

Yard sales...
Should be able to find all kinds of unwanted computers for next to nothing and work your way up the OS chain.

That is quite true. I had a friend who found an old pc for around 90 bucks. It was pretty cool that he found it. I might talk to him about letting me use it.

If you're on Windows, for light stuff, just open the command prompt and type "debug". This will put you in a sort of sandboxed assembler mode. Entering '?' at the prompt will give you a list of commands.

You can find cheap programmable circuit boards on eBay if you are interested.
