hello

i am quite new to this stuff, i have learned the basics of creating software.

i need help with making my program open something like notepad and deleting files

if anyone can help it would be quite good

hi, are you trying to create an editor? are you trying to create an interface for an editor?

If you are just starting to learn pascal, I would recommend something simpler than a GUI text editor - although I know Delphi makes it quite easy, it's still better to learn one thing at a time. I would start with basic console I/O.

If you are programming for the real world you would be better of using Delphi. Why not start with the freebie version? You can get it here http://cc.codegear.com/free/delphi.
