Hey guys!

Was wondering if anyone had a book on UNIX/LINUX programming that they'd like to recommend? I'm particularly interested in the system programming, such as networking, files etc...

I have the perfect solution for you. It's an excellent resource and does exactly what you are looking for. It shows how to do all the system programming on Linux and gets you familiar with libraries that are actually useful, unlike the other 10,000 programming books out there that just reteach the standard C library over and over. This book will really help you learn Linux development that is practical for the real world. The only downside is that you have to download each of the individual chapters as PDFs instead of the entire book, but one advantage to that is you can skip around and find the stuff that interests you most.

i feel your pain. I dont like e-books much my self. you can always goto kinkos and make book out of the e-mook

Good links guys. Regarding the Ebook... print it, bind it and read it away from the puter. I have hundreds of computer books at home, rarely have I read one front to back. Unfortunately, the ones I have on linux programming I wouldn't recommend.
