What's wrong with our world today?

Hey, I don't know if any of yall watch the news. But I was watching it yesterday and this evening, seeing what was going on in our world, and guess what. A self-proclaimed pedophile started a website to show or help other pedophiles know where little girls and boys are. The website stegl.org which was shut down by it's hosting company allowed other pedophiles to go online and look at these pictures he had taken of little girls and boys. Now why he didn't touch them, and said he has never acted upon his feelings this is sick.

Now the American people will get mad because a man is involved in dog fights, and they are willing to prosecute him. But when a man takes pictures of little girls and boys and puts them on a website for anyone's viewing purposes we can't do nothing about it. This is sick, disgusting and shows you just what kind of world we are living in. 50 years ago this wouldn't be tolerated, and it shouldn't be tolerated today. I love living in America, I love the freedoms we have, I think America is the greatest country in the world. But it's things like these that make me hate it.

Yeah, the worlds a pretty screwed up place. In the city I live in, the law dealy is kind of pathetic. The judges are so easy on almost everything. Everybody blames the police, but the truth is, soon as the police catch a criminal, he's already walked out the door by the time they are able to complete the paperwork. A little while back, a teenage driver just about my age (couple years younger) took his parents car out when all he had was a learners lic. He had two friends in the car (also a violation), he's speeding, and ran a red light I believe. he hit and killed one person in a bus stop, and injured a few others. He basically got away with a slap on the wrist. It was all community service. It was pathetic. One guy killed someone else in some situation, and got away with a slap on the wrist because he was first nations. It's crazy. Those are the pathetic incidents. Don't even get me started on some of the crazy law suits I've heard. Look up the one about the 2 koreans in NY who are getting sued by a judge because they lost his pants (they own a dry cleaners biz) Anyways, lawsuit went on for 2 years and was still going. Amounted to a huge amount of money. They found his pants 2 weeks later. they had also gave him money to replace the pants (up to $1200) he refused, and continued with the lawsuit. It got so intense and expensive, the Korean family wanted to leave the U.S and go back to Korea. Now that's something to think about.

See, thats crazy. Everybody losses things, I know hat since it was a business, you know it ain't smart to lose clients clothes or other things, but it's an honest mistake. Especially even after they found them and he refused to stop the lawsuit.

You think that's crazy? I'll tell you another story. This time it's about a personal relationship. A guy I met through the store I worked for, one of our clients, told me about his break up with his 'spouse'. They broke up, and long story short, she just kept taking more and more. He battled with her, and gave in to demands after a year. Fighting over possesions and money obviously. he gave up, said screw it, take it, in thinking that would be the end of it. She came back for more, said she was moving away to another city etc etc, wanted more of this and that. Now he has more in lawyer fees etc. he's getting really pissed off. He says there's no fighting with something that is pure emotion. theres no logic to what she is doing, she has more than, enough. I don't know what this situation is now, but at that point in time, they'd already put their kid through college 3 times as lawyer fees. That is just painful waste. What's really shocking is that it wasn't even his wife. It was all done through common law. I can't believe it, he gave in, and now she comes back for more. I'm sorry to all the women out there for sterotyping but it's nuts. It honest to god puts me off marriage. This story is a reason why guys are all about getting sex and wanting nothing more. Even when you think you've met the significant other, all this happens. You lose almost everything. It's crazy. I always wonder why the world can't get along, but it's people like this who screw it up. Sometimes I just wonder where all logic has gone. It's not just all politics and business that make the world a painful sight.

Yeah, I'll agree the world is fucked up. When murderers and rapists get a slap on the wrist, you know something is seriously wrong. I'd go off on a rant here, but political discussions are off limits here, and it's hard to critique laws without involving politics, so I'll refrain.

@Booooze: that aboriginal guy you refer to- is that Darnell Pratt, the guy who dragged the gas station attendent for 7km, and later admitted he heard the screams from under the car? I think he should have gone to prison for the rest of his life (I think the same of all convicted killers), and that his background is irrelevant. 'Unhappy childhood' is no excuse, and someone's ethnic background even less so. The judge who gave him a light sentence erred in my opinion, and the appeal judges who reduced this sentence because it was 'too harsh' must be on crack.

letrcicpharoh, that story about that Darnell Pratt guy really pisses me off. How could you bear to hear something like that. In my opinion, we need less judges and more tall trees, and short ropes.

Comment on Marriage (I know this is a side topic but it works) @Booooze Put off marriage, but just wait till the right one comes along, cause I'm betting if you wait long enough and you put yourself out there a little, you'll find a girl that isn't a complete bitch who just wants your money or the title on your business card. Though I'm only 17, I do have high hopes that one day I will find that girl. you know what I mean?
IR, Would you say you found that girl?
Now for something on Topic, The whole idea that a guy can put that pedophile info online is shit. I don't care how bad someone says it's the first amendment, I'd tell them to go screw a donkey if they thought it's protected under the 1st. Thankfully, some cities are starting to introduce new laws that any sexual crime with a minor is a shit load of time. My personal belief is, if you touch a little girl or a little boy and they were my little brother or sister, you'd be dead. Period. I don't care if you are the commander of the world, I'd still kill you. It's those people that need to be getting help. And if they pull the whole I was a bused when I was younger card, I'd tell them then get help before you abuse yourself. That way we can possibly stop all the sickness in the world. If you kill someone because you were being a dumbass (drunk driving, driving w/o DL, played a prank, speeding) I don't care you should get life, cause you took someone elses life. Now if you killed someone on accident like... hmm... lets say you are working in a vent and your hammer drops down and hits someone on the head. You didn't mean to kill them, but you still did so something should happen. Just My Thoughts.

You get that from CSI? But yeah, if someone touched me brother, or cousins or even if they weren't of any relation at all, but I still know they had touched someone it would be hard for me to control myself, and not beat the shit out of them. But this guy didn't touch them or nothing, so "legally" he is innocent, but not morally.

To kill them is to give them an easy way out.

I rarely watch the so called news because there whole aim is to turn civilians against each other. Where I am from, every crime reported has a race, religion and a skin colour attached to it and the reporters are always bias.

As well the stuff that you lot have commented on, something else that pisses me off is the 'blame culture', where if an accident happens someone must take the blame, and that person is gonna pay! For example in many schools in the UK the kids aren't allowed to play tag in the playground, or marbles/conker games, teachers aren't allowed to put a plaster on a kid incase the kid has an allergic reaction to it. Loads of other stupid restritions also cos people are scared of being sued. There was story recently where a burgler broke into a building, but he got injured while breaking in and successfully sued the building owners. Wasn't there one also where someone sued McDonalds because they bought some tea which was hot and they burnt their lip on it, lol lol.
Edit PS - sorry for going off topic a bit.
