We're not the same person, but apparently we have similar projects, and so him taking into account and responding to advice that was destined for me makes sense.

If I'm going to replace my itunes, I'll want to still be able to put music on my ipod. If I used AAC Format I can fit 500 songs whereas with Mp3 format I can fit 250 - 300. So if using the itunes replacement ment that I couldn't put songs on my ipod / couldn't put as many songs on my ipod then I wouldn't really use it.

I also want my music player to be able to put music onto my MP3 player. The problem is, it's a Creative Zen, which uses a different set of APIs to move data across. Right now, most Creative players, along with a lot of other manufacturers, use the Microsoft Transfer Protocol API, which, for obvious reasons, isn't implemented very well in Linux. I wouldn't say it's an urgently required feature, but it'd be nice to have.

the main reason i use itunes is to manage podcasts and IPTV. You need to add rss handling for automaticaly downloading video and audio files. Allow the user to chose a pre-installed audio/video player or use what comes with the software. in version 6.x of iTunes i could watch video on my tv connect to my computer. in version 7.x this no longer works well. add the feature to view vidoe on a second display.
