Installing Apache

Right. I'm using PHP and MySQL for a website. Both PHP and MySQL have been installed and configured successfully (or so I think) but now I've come to a problem...I have not idea of how to install Apache. I've looked at the "INSTALL" manual that comes with the download but it looks a complete mess and I can't get my head around it. I have also looked at some online tutorials but none of them make sense to me either. Can anyone dumb the intructions down for me?

Did you tried XAMPP?

if not give it a try.

here is the link: http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html

it works both on Windows and GNU/Linux.

What does it mean by "service section" when you are installing on XAMPP?

Are you using Windows or Linux? I guess that is probably the first important thing we should know.

By default it will install more services (PHP, MySQL, Pro-FTPD) and apache, so if you don't need them, don't install them.

No. http://localhost will work, or http://YOURIP will work. Is your IP dynamic or static?
