Nice tutorial. Im planning on learning C# soon. Probably wont happen till the end of this semester since Im overloaded with work.
What are the advantages that C# has over the other languages? Off topic: bleh, Daniweb has too many advertisements for me, though it is a nice site. I just got tired of blocking the ads. Do the google ads actually pay off?

I actually don't think you need it with the current verison. At least you didn't with 1.0.3 not sure about the latest release.
BUT I highly recommend you get it because otherwise you don't get the documentation on the .NET framework which is incredibly useful to look up all different classes/functins and shit in the .NET Framework.

If you are a programmer, its a sin not to get the SDK for the language of your choice.

You don't have to have the SDK. I just installed 1.03 on this pc at work and it works now. I'll be damned if I know what the problem was before. I have .NET framework 1.1 and the a hotfix, maybe that had something to do with. *shrug*
Don't worry IR, the SDK is d/l now ![]()

Thanks to the open source world, you can now check out Mono for a lighter weight development kit/runtime. (Also includes Glade/GTK bindings for easy cross-platform interfaces)

ROLMAO @ PoM I had the same problem when working with Element... when we upgraded the .NET Framework, it broke some old code.

"Visual C# Express SDK Beat 2" is a great piece of programming software! The tutorials on it are very basic.
All the begginers here to programing in general should stick with QBASIC. It is old but you will be amazed at what you can learn. It also helps you out when learning more complex languages as you learn most of the terms from BASIC. |
