Total Newbie, just starting, poor math understanding but i'll try.

Hi, i'm starting to learn assembly language and here's the guide i'm reading. so i presume that if i need any help in math or sth else i can ask you, right guys?

i'm from greece and it's my first year in social theology at the university of athens, so regardless of my major i love computers so i want to be a programmer. not much time though whenever i find some i'll study.

Ohh, by the way. is there any pdf book you can give me to learn how to read/find File Alloation Tables inside archives????

Or is this too early for me?????

and guys, you need to widen your file uploads max size. too f****n small.

here's the link but please someone upload and re-post reply link here from a server that the file will always be there and not a temporary uploads service.

Ok, before the other guys here start reading this post you made, I'm gonna give you some heads up...Read the Rules and Regulations.

Sure, as long as you don't complain or whine if we don't help you. First off, we're not your math teachers, instructors, professors, or even your coaches. Consider it also a favor if we do, because we're not getting paid to answer your questions. We spend our own time to answer your questions.

Look in Google. Have you actually tried that first?

Part of being a programmer is that you have to be good at Math. Why? Because you won't make any application without Math involved. Programming languages consist of Math, and whether you like it or not, that's a fact...and that's only PART of being a programmer.

Yup, you really sound like a newbie. This is a programming forum, not an uploading forum. Deal with it!

If you think I'm being harsh on you, wait till you see the others here. Learn from this. Ok?

Absolutely! But we'll encourage you to try solving problems for yourself first because that's an important part of being a programmer.

>is there any pdf book you can give me to learn how to read/find File Alloation Tables inside archives????
Unfortunately, there's not a book about everything. That sounds like a subject that you'll have to figure out through research, experimentation and asking questions from people with experience.

>Or is this too early for me?????
Probably, but it shouldn't stop you from trying.

>Ok, before the other guys here start reading this post you made, I'm gonna give you some heads up
So you wanted to be the first to flame him? That's hardly a heads up...

>Part of being a programmer is that you have to be good at Math.
You can be a programmer with no more than a basic ability in arithmetic. You can be a good programmer with basic algebra. You can't be a great programmer without a strong foundation in algebra, geometry, and discrete mathematics. You don't necessarily have to be good at math to be a programmer, but it does help, and working for any length of time as a programmer will improve your math drastically.

>If you think I'm being harsh on you, wait till you see the others here.
Speaking as one of the "others", I think you really crossed the line in that post. There's a subtle but distinct difference between rough and tumble kindness and just being a jerk. You should try to understand why say what we say before emulating us. Hint: It's not because we're mean, and certainly not because we're on a power trip.

yeah, like narue said you just have to have arithmetic skills.

if you don't know the answer to 3+5, then fuck you.

but i'm sure you do know. asm will probably test your math the least of all languages...until you try to get clever, then you're dealing with bits and shit.

most CS majors only have you take 5 or 6 upper-level math courses.

it's NOT that hard...and if it is?...

try something else.

good luck!

Don't worry about Math yet. If you really get interested in programming, you will enjoy Mathematics and it will be easy to learn. If you never get interested... who cares, right?

Maybe you need to upload smaller attachments, hmm? Bitching is liable to earn a flame or perhaps a slap with a stinky dead fish.
