So, I have an x64 computer that is finished except for a few minor issues I'm still working out before I replace this one with that one. However, this PC I'm using right now is a perfectly good computer and is quite up to date. It's a shame to put it in storage when it's nowhere near old enough to be considered obsolete. However, after my new one is set up, I will have to do something with it as I can't just have it laying around my room.
So, I figured it would be a good opportunity to experiment with a case mod. my idea is to take household item or appliance, gut it, and make a computer out of it. I'm looking for ideas.

I'm considering using:
An old Toaster
A broken microwave
A broken TV
Perhaps an NES/ SNES case
A VCR

Does anyone else have any ideas for a neat case? NOTE: I'm not looking for stuff like building my own case from scratch, modding an existing PC case, etc...

How about a broken \ cheap HiFi?
has a chance to be upright, more spacious than a VCR or Toaster but not as bulky as a TV or Microwave, generally it will look good, depending on the HiFi.

Also openings and removable facias should be adequate on a stereo system.

Something small probably would be best... I gutted two computers and put their parts onto a 2'x2' piece of wooden board. Not entirely sure why I did that... but it looks pretty cool.

My friend has his inside an electric panel thing on his wall, it's pretty cool. I was gonna put mine in an old toolbox I had, I really don't know why tho.

sounds like fun but sounds like cooling could be a big issue with something like this.

one friend of mine just has his motherboard strapped to a piece of wood sitting on top of his desk, now that's a cool case.

As long as you keep all the required fans and have proper ventilation in whatever your sticking it in cooling shouldn't be that big of an issue.

Cooling isn't an issue. I have dozens of fans around and A dremel for new vents if I have to.

And another option I might have is an old commodore 64 case, if my dad would be willing to let go of one of his. This would be abit hardcores, however, as it would involve either getting a new motherboard or chopping pieces off and moving them to other places and a bunch of soldering. Not to mention any HDD's or CD roms would have to be on the outside (Though it wouldn't matter if anyone who saw mine had seen a commodore 64 before).

But there's a bit holding me back, not only are both of the C64's in the house my dad's, but I also have problems with destroying something as historical to computing as that.
