Well, without getting into whether the Israelis are right or not (I think they're totally in the wrong but let's not discuss that here) I'd like to offer my best wishes to hbe02 and all other civilians in Lebanon.

Without being polictical, i just wish for peace in the region. To me its does not matter who is right or wrong. People on both sides dont deserve to be killed or loose their homes. It sadens me to see this event unfolding on TV.

Back to the topic. I have messed about about with managed C++ and C++/CLI. Both of them were quite unimpressive. I came to the conclusion to either use normal C++ to program natvie code in or c# or vb.net for .net development. A messed up C++ for .net is a waste of time. But thats just my opinion so feel free to disagree.

seems like i left my post unchecked for quite awhile.. alright so here is the deal.
In regards to my questions:
I am aware that the choice between c++ and C# is quite controversial. but i just wanted to introduce myself to .NET after 1.5 years of c++. i hope i made a good choice about it, i am learning c++.NET or c++/CLI in order to check out how they made the language somewhat simpler to handle in regards to strings, garbage collection, Delegates, events, exceptions, collections and so on. i am also learning in order to introduce myself to programming GUI's in the .NET which i am quite facinated by. finally i want to get into ADO.NET and databases which i believe has a namespace in the .NEt to be used in my C++.NEt code. my next step will be learning C# to get into its relation with webservices and ASP.NET.
the reason why im sharing my interests is that im not very sure if im in the right path to learn all this stuff. as i said its controversial and im just learning so i can find the answers for myself.
Im relieved to hear that VS2005 has a designer but its good that ive learnt how to do it manually so far.
@boooze: im sure ill find it in the window state property, will check that right away. thanks for feedback.
and thanks to all for contributing to this thread.
Now in regards to the political issue:
First i'd like to thank everyones support, its nice to know that ppl from all over the world are aware of what going on. but again i am not entitled to discuss political issues in this thread, if anyone opens this topic in the lounge i will gladly contribute to it.
btw: i just left lebanon few days ago, family is abroad and went to join them.

If you re-read post #12 you will know not to open or join any such thread in the lounge.

thanks..
Check out the System::Drawing::Screen::PrimaryScreen object - specifically the Bounds property. It's a Size object from which you can withdraw the width and height of the useable screen area.
