He didn't say he doesn't have an OS. He said he's going to forget (for the moment) DEVELOPING an OS and concentrate on the GL.

If you want to learn to use gl then NeHe's Tutorials are a good place to start.

He means Graphics Library by GL not Open GL, I think.

I have an old book which dates to 1988 its called Graphics Programming in C by Roger T. Stevens. It talks abotu CGA, EGA and VGA displays and how to use them.

I recently checked a book out from the library: Computer Graphics for the IBM PC. It is from 1987 and the throughout the entire thing he keeps talking about bit manipulations. It is all in 2D, though.

I think the first step is deciding what you want the library to do. Maybe you can look at other graphics libraries and see what functions they perform. Once you know what you want, the next step will be easier. Does this help?

I want the books not for "cheating" but to learn how to start and how to make what i want. I'm going to check the books and the sites.
