Smart Website or Data Mining?

I have posted this message after a long time. But it appears, that this website has become smarter. And why not, its handled by BIG K!

I saw this piece of information just blow the navigation link.

Quote:
Hello java_roshan it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks, why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution or just engage in a conversation with another member in any one of our forums?
Now, the REASON:
I, actually, am trying to read stuff over the internet, and trying to figure out on asking the right questions. I am not disheartened by the unconventional responses I may have received, but instead encouraged, to search more and more.

I understand that. But is it some sort of data mining from a data warehouse, or simple queries.

And because, I didn't have anything to post, I decided to go with this post to the feedback section of the website.

Its just a simple query to the db that sees when you made your last post. Since each time you post, to puts a timestamp in the db as well.

Oh ok.

I don't know whether I should be asking by replying to this post or not, but really,

are the adv's fetching some dollars? I mean has there been a difference from the previous scenario?
