URAT help

hi
i have a heard that the uart of computer automatically generates an interrupt when a byte is received at port say(com 1). but i am not able to get the code(to interact with it) and i do't have have any further info on it. can any one help me

[solved]

then com port has the 0x04 IRQ which has goes up when an bit is recives.
so i have to do nothing just read the 0x04.
