School Days

Quote:

School days, school days,
Dear old golden rule days.
'Readin' and 'ritin' and 'rithmetic,
Taught to the tune of a hick'ry stick.
I was your queen in calico,
You were my bashful barefoot beau,
And I wrote on your slate,
'I love you, Joe,'
When we were a couple of kids.

That song brings back old memories -- and at 62 I'm back to school! :D Taking two classes in C# programming because I know next to nothing about it. Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks

Wow. Nice work. Great to see people that motivated to learn more programming.

EverLearning Aug 2nd, 2005 7:08 PM

you are becoming "ever-learning" :D
Best of luck! I know nothing about C#, hmmm...I probably should mess around with it over a free minute... one of my friends called it a "cute" language...

In Texas, "cute" means bowlegged. Congratulations, Dragon. My mother used to sing that song, incidentally.

Congrats Ancient Dragon, never too late to learn something new... Hopefully at 62, I will still be motivated to learn as you are. Out of curiousity, are you taking these classes at a local college or through a training company? I've been trying to find an company in the US that provides offsite courses in C# programming, but haven't found any as of yet.

Ancient Dragon Aug 3rd, 2005 12:57 PM

I will be taking them through a local college about 5 miles from where I work. If you have a lot of people in your company that needs the training you can usually arrange with the local college to get a teacher to teach the course at your place of employment. Also, if you live near a large city (1 Million+ people) look in the yellow pages for training companies.

Thanks for the information. The reason I was asking about offsite training... is because my employer offers training twice a year in any subject matter that is related to my job... I was looking for something offsite, so I could travel and have sort of a "mini-vacation" also... I've been ultra busy at work this year, so I'm trying to squeeze the training in at the last minute. The other three people on my team have already been or have it scheduled... lol
