I need a reliable source to tell my friend this is fake:

http://www.killsometime.com/Video/vi...eo=Robot-Dance

I know they did most of it, but certain parts are obviously digitally enhanced.

The only person i would consider a reliable source on the validity of the creation of a video is the creator.

TheFalseDragon Jul 7th, 2005 11:46 PM

heh sorry i watched it again and its pretty much alot of editing going on there, i'm not sure that the crowd is real at all and there are a few dodgey bits on the curtain which you might like to point out

Sane Jul 7th, 2005 11:49 PM

You should see his MSN screen name...-_-;;

Infinite Recursion Jul 8th, 2005 8:33 AM

Yep, you can tell it was altered a bit.

skuinders Jul 8th, 2005 9:36 AM

I don't know if it is altered or not... but what he did was not impossible by any means. I have seen people dance like this in person before. I sent the video to a film major I know, I'll let you know what he thinks.

Ooble Jul 8th, 2005 10:46 AM

That Chinese guy owns. But yeah, I knew someone who can dance like that, so it's definitely possible.

TheFalseDragon Jul 8th, 2005 1:00 PM

thats what i thought the first time but when i looked again i was a bit more doubtful of it

skuinders Jul 8th, 2005 1:37 PM

I am not convinced that it is altered. I see no clear signs of editing and the typical giveaways are not present (eg. the shadows are all consistent). The crowd sounds are also consistent with the other videos from the talent show:

I also don't see why this organization would manufacture this video. My friend who is a film major said that the quality is too poor for him to really tell if it is edited. Why don't you contact someone from the Kollaboration organization and ask?

mackenga Jul 9th, 2005 1:38 PM

I'm with skuinders on this. I don't think there's anything in the video that suggests tampering. The dodgy bits I think some others are picking up on are similar to distortion I've seen before on very heavily compressed video. Also, nothing these guys do is physically impossible; it would just take a lot of skill. If you were tampering with a video like this you could have them doing even more extreme things.
