how to get a little icon to show up next to your url.
hi. you probably have seen them around but on some sites in the address bar to the left of the url is sometimes a little icon for the site - like the G in a box for www.google.com. Also they show up on tabs in tabbed browsers. I was wondering how you can incorporate that into your own site. Also what are he requirements for the pics? like width and height and do they need to be in any special format? Im not sure if you do this with html or php or another web programming language. thanks for any replies in advance.

Those are called favicons
http://www.4webhelp.net/tutorials/misc/favicons.php Just basic (X)HTML code that goes in your <head></head>. They are either in an .ico or .png format. |
