Explain Member Status to a Newbie, por favor
 

Hey, could anybody tell me how the user stats work.
For instance, I'm currently a Newbie. I've seen other people who are Guru's or Hobbyist's. How does the ranking system work?

It's just based on post count. Nothing to be concerned about. It's not a reflection of one's knowledge or experience.

But the levels have already been explained in another tread in the lounge (i think) with a 'does what it says on the tin' title. sorry i can't post a link but i'm too tired to think... ;)

lol, yeah it's all about post count, nothing else.

i think there might be a thread some where with the number of posts you need to get to each level, but i am too lazy to search for it right now :-)

If rank is based on post count, why am I not an admin yet? :D

There's a flaw in the system... Ooble passed 3000 and should be ranked "Post Whore" :)

If anything, the only thing the post count shows is how much time people spend / waste on the forums... basically denoting a "regular".
