Can you help me here
I have used a graphics program, to create an image of a stick figure and I have created an HTML file named BodyParts.html that includes an image map of the stick figure.I want to know how I can create hot spots over each of the figure’s body part. When a mouse passes over each body part, display the part’s name in the status bar, and I want to change the status bar to an empty string when the mouse passes off the image.Lastly I want to know how to create alert dialog boxes that display each body part’s name when you click it.I can send you the screen dump as example of what the output looks like if you can give me your e-mail address. Thanks
I will be grateful if you can help me here. If you do not follow what I have wrote above please feel free to ask me. With Much Love Eager Student |
You'll need to use JavaScript. I suggest checking out the image map and JavaScript tutorials at HTMLSource.

Sorry to argue with you Ooble :p (again) but you don't need javascript to create the image map, just html. I went to that site, and here is the link that goes to image maps. It's in the html section ;)
You need javascript to set the status bar, i'll dig an example out of my harddrive and post it here |
Here we go:
:
<img src="mypicture.JPG" width="564" height="451" border="0" usemap="#mymap">Have fun, just change the "area shape...coords" bit and then the message, you should be on your way!!! |
LOI, what I meant is that you'll need to use JavaScript to pop up alert boxes and change the status bar message.

Ye i know what you meant, i was gonna argue it even though i knew i was wrong, but by tim ei had written it, i couldn't be bothered to delete it so i tried to back out gracefully.
