best server side script [solved]

I'm trying to decide what server side scripting language I want to teach myself. I want to build an online auction for my community. Any suggestions on what would be the best language to learn?

i'd go with PHP, powerful, relatively easy, usefull, supported by almost every hosting service, and not microsoft.

i resell windows hosting that has both asp and php enabled........asp is the easiest to learn and powerful enough so i recommend that.

It's a biased vote, as I don't know nearly as much about ASP as I do PHP, but I really do prefer PHP. It's a little crazy, but it's easy and pretty damn powerful.
