What was your first project?
Hi
I am currently searching for a first project, I can test my (fairly limited) skills in python. So a little hint, as to what was the first project you started would be nice , as I am searching for a project which is not too overwhelming, but where I still can learn a lot of stuff. Any tips would be nice!!! :) |
Try a four-function calculator for starters.
|
Four function like + - * / ???
Sounds good to me though... Thanx |
my first project, i was a coder for a mud (hope someone knows what a mud is....otherwise oh man) and i had to create a race, well i created an angel race. :)
|
The first project I ever made in terms of tools, was an MD5 cracker (brute forcer, dictionary attacker, whatever, still gets the same message across.) Then I did a port scanner, I assume neither one of these would be dramatically hard to implement in Python, assuming Python has support for the MD5 algorithm and it doesn't have half-bad socket support.
The main problem you'll probably have with an MD5 cracker is the logical structure you'll have to deal with. Plain truth, it's a slut. MadSpark14 MD5 cracker source code. ^^See what I mean by a logical slut? |
My first project i was also a coder for a mud. I helped come up with the concept of a wraith class for Godwars.
|
I'm currently doing a website in flash for a local band, "Greyspoke Variety"
i'll be sure to post it when i finish :-) |
I make vBulletin hacks, I don't know if that's a so called "project" but, that's what i do. :) And, I forgot what my first hack was, a custom portal i think.

I could never develop a so-called "hack" AKA modification for a system I didn't write. It'd seem weird, plus I'd have to feel my way around the damn system for a while, figuring out what the hell everything is and does. |
My first project was a moneytree grabber for A neopets hacking site. erm..(havokware) I regret it now.
