opening and modifying contents of war file
 

I was wondering the best way to open and modify the contents of a war file using a script. Perhaps with perl or with sed/awk. not sure.
war files are web application archives with their own directory structure.

Is there a sample war file you can post? Knowing the layout and the format it's stored in would be most helpful.
