Learning Perl

Hi,

I want to start learning Perl to do some shell scripting. Can you point me to any good websites and/or books to start out with.

Thanks!

Search for "Perl Tutorials" on google.com.... also check out CPAN.

Heh, I could have done that myself :p.

I suggest reading "Learning Perl" 3rd Edition by O'Reilly publishing. If I recall correctly, it is written by Tom Christiansen and was reviewed by Larry Wall himself. :D

I learned from it, and now I'm a Perl voodoo freak. :P

I also know a few other people who learned from it... I highly recommend it. So go rush to your local Borders Bookstore or Barnes & Noble. :P

Some just posted a link to a few O'Reily ebooks regarding Perl programming, be sure to check those out too before they get yanked.

Hi,

I find this is one of the best tutorials out there

http://paul.rutgers.edu/~mcgrew/perltutor/

The audio streams simplify things a lot.

Regards
