Re: website for practice problems and contests

Sane has some algorithm challenges around on this forum, theres a tic-tac-toe game and the newest has 4 different algorithms that need to be solved. Have a look at those and see what you make of them. You will find those in the algorithms section of the forum btw,

Here is the tic-tac-toe, which is design by sane as an online bot vs bot competition tosee who can code the perfect AI, its been made portable for multiple languages so that shouldn't be a problem

Tic-Tac-Toe

What language are you using out of interest?

Also if you list what sort of challeneges your looking for im sure people wll give you some here.

you might wanna visit CODERWORDS.com - Home or Sphere Online Judge (SPOJ). They have programming questions and some tutorials as well:icon_idea:

Re: website for practice problems and contests

As Chris said, I have a monthly algorithm's challenge posted here:

http://www.programmingforums.org/thread15759.html

Submission deadline is May 31.

If you can get perfect on Senior and Advanced, then you should try:

http://train.usaco.org/

That is a website intended to train students for gold medals in the IOI World Finals. It gets very difficult, so it is only for the most experienced programmers.

Those are the two extremes, if you want something in between, you will have to show me your stuff (make a submission to the algorithms challenge). :)

There's all sorts of stuff from previous ACM competitions, to Programming-Challenges.com, to even some local university competitions I know of. Lots to study from for all skill levels. A lot also depends on the specific competition. The best practice is to do previous years from the contest you plan on writing.

Sane are you feeling ok...mutating URLs i've heard of somethings but thats just bizzare unless some form of server side scripting is present....which as far as i am awear there is not URL mutating script active on this forum.
