Visual C# 2008 Express Edition installation fail

1 Attachment(s)
I've been trying to install Visual C# 2008 Express Edition for the past couple of days. I managed to get the setup file from MS website but the setup needs to download files but it's having trouble with downloading them. Is anybody else experiencing this problem.

I am running windows XP with services pack 2 with the latest hotfixes.

I have attached a screenshot of the app before it failed.

Have you tried the offline installer to see if that downloads? I'm getting really sharp speed bounces here with the web installer, so it's going really slow (but still going at least).

Uh... if your a student at a college the express edition is pretty stupid to get xD.

https://downloads.channel8.msdn.com/

Called "DreamSpark" and basically if your college student it is automatically free for the entire professional edition (if your college is granted/recognized :P).

But when i installed my express edition, I didn't get any install errors just so ya know :P.

And what does the VS Pro SKU give you that the Express versions wont (for the average student, that is)? I'm just wondering if you know before you call it stupid. Going from a 50MB install to 3GB or whatever pro is isn't always a "smart thing" if you're not using the extra tools.
