can anyone help
 
hello everyone i was going to enroll in school for programming this year but i do not know anything about it and want to get a head up on things where should i start and whats scripting and where do i get the programming software if anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated

scripting is a term often used to mean the code you write that tells the computer how to perform a certain task.

depends on what programming language you want to learn. For now you will want to get that information from your school counselor or instructor when you sign up for a specific language course. Usually teachers require all the students to use the same compiler to make it easier for him/her to teach the class.

What programming language do you want to start with -- there are dozens of them. I hear php or python might be a good ones to start with.

www.python.org - for the python language
www.php.net - for the PHP language
www.bloodshed.net - for a few IDES, particularly Dev-C++

If you are running Linux, then look into GCC and VI via google. Otherwise, look into Linux. :)
