I've started writing a tutorial on XHTML and CSS, both of which tie in together. I've only written the introduction, but it gives you a good glimpse of the syntax and the power of the language.

It's an RTF document written in Word, so it might show up slightly wrong in other apps. It should still be readable though. I tried writing it in XHTML itself, but getting the colours and formatting, not to mention replacing all the non-standard characters with their valid equivalents (like "<") caused a few problems.

Anyway, it's hosted at http://members.lycos.co.uk/ooble/xhtml-css.rtf - please take a look and tell me what you think.

i looked thru it it looks pretty good. i didnt get time to read thru it like i want to but keep up the good work :)

maybe when you finish you could post the whole thing on the forums or if you would like i could post it on the forums as i know there are quite a few ppl here that use linux and we dont use word but we do use open office so we could still read it but if you wanted i could format it when your down to post it here :)

I will do. I'm just not gonna do it now - I'm too lazy. When it's finished, it will be up here for all to see. Right now though, I want some constructive criticism.

It is good, maybe you should add a section where Noobs can learn what all of the tags mean, etc.

I'd rather they just learnt HTML first. This isn't a full-on guide to the basics - it's for the more advanced people.

BTW, you can learn HTML from http://www.yourhtmlsource.com/. I know I keep pimping this site, but it really is great.

The Hack Jul 13th, 2004 9:53 AM

Then maybe you should put a link to that website in your tutorials. :P

Ooble: yeah i think it would be best to wait till its complete before you post it i was just mentioning it to you :)

but again keep up the good work on the tut :)

I already have - I just uploaded it. There's like 3 changes, so you don't have to bother reading it again if you don't want to.
