Hello. I'm a math student pursuing a masters degree and been involved in Java programming for about a year. Which has been just long enough for me to realize that what i've learned has taught me the basic ideas behind the language but not really how to use it. So I joined the forum here to hopefully get a better understanding of programming in general.

I definitely have an interest in learning about automotive applications of programming, such as firmware, and flashing automotive computers. Anyone who has some good information as to where to start with those topics would be greatly appreciated, I tried google and mainly found information on what they are.

On the other side if anyone has any automotive questions feel free to ask me as I have a minor in automotive technology and worked as a mechanic for 3 years.

Welcome to the forums. I have very basic knowledge of embedded systems programming, but given that you're using Java, I'm sure you'll find some help around here when you post your questions.
