Re: iPhone SDK

I just recently downloaded it, haven't had time to break it open though. Ultimately, I want to give my iPhone the same capability as my Palm TX.... may start simple with some sore of ToDo List utility.

i am making an E6B. it is a program which i will certainly use and i think it will be perfect for the mulitouch interface. i plan on making it available for free from the iPhone App Store and open source.

The iPhone doesn't have a To Do list? Sure it isn't part of the mail or calendar apps like it is in Mac OS?

I haven't came across a ToDo list within the default install... However, there is a notepad, but it lackes the ability of statuses and categorization. You can also list "events" in the calendar, but it lacks todo list functionality. You could also tie it into email though, and have a todo list there... but too much trouble for something that should be simple. There are a few todo list apps floating around though. On a side note, that E6B app sounds pretty cool.

I just downloaded the SDK but haven't had a chance to play with it yet.

Has Apple released the iPhone software update that allows third-party applications to run on it yet? If not, does anyone know when it will be released?

I am not sure about 3rd party apps, but they are charging $99 to run it on your iPhone. Otherwise you can run it in the simulator..

Re: iPhone SDK

$99 is for a developer license which allows you to run any number of your own apps on iPhone. You also get to list your apps in the App Store which makes purchasing your apps as easy for customers as purchasing a song on iTunes. So I would say it's definitely worth it.
