Hi
Hi everyone this is my fist visit to your fine forum.
ill just cut to the chase with this one, since leaving college 3 weeks ago i have found an abundance of spare time so i thought i would turn my hand at programming, i do know some basic VB and basic HTML but i am looking for something use full and fun to learn any ideas or recommendations on a language |
Re: Hi
Welcome to PFO. You'll rarely see useful and fun in the same sentence when talking about programming. But from my experience, Python is a good choice.

Re: Hi
well i find to truly learn something you have to enjoy doing what ever it is you are trying to learn.

Re: Hi
I haven't tried my hand at Python yet but from very early preliminary skimming of material on the subject online it does look like a good choice for an introduction to programming (amongst other things).
Obviously it's early days yet for you but if you'd consider programming professionally in the future Java's a good choice these days too. Have fun! |

Re: Hi

Re: Hi
Welcome!
C# is a very good choice, that is, if you would like to design for the windows platform. It's true what you said, they say if a photographer is genuinely interisted in photography he will take good photos, I think the same goes for everything else, especially programming. Enjoy |
Re: Hi
Hey there,
I think a programming language is also a little bit personal, you should try them all and see what suits you best. Good luck learning language X :D |
Re: Hi
