Sorry about this question as it must be asked quite a lot but, I want to learn C++ i am a complete beginner to the language i am looking for a book to learn from and was wondering which is the best one?

First off, I would suggest learning general programming first... the concept before getting into C++.

I have the philosophy that once you learn how to program, you can program in any language... you just have to learn the syntax of that particular language.

Although I do not have any books in particular to recommend... that is how I would go about it. I seem to have good luck with books from Sams or Que.

I'm starting to code in C++...It's very similar to C so its easy. I reccoment C++ By Example...or C++ A beginner's Guide

What is a better book to learn c++?
1. Practical C++ Programming - Oreilly
2. C++ in a Nutshell - Oreilly
3. Sams Teach Yourself C++ in 21 Days, 5th Edition - Coming out on the 20th December but judge on 4th edition.

I have a copy of "Learn C++ in 21 days" on my gmail account..... ;)

EDIT: second edition

I don't like the idea of leaning the entire language in 21 days <_<

You dont learn the entire language.
I found that it was a good reference book though.
