Re: CISCO System

I have taken CCNA 1&2 and know a few things, but they changed a lot of the course material, and I don't know any Italian.

For the OSI Layers, the best approach would be to create a sort of memory aid. In my class, we made a phrase where each word shared a common first letter with the layer.

For example, my personal phrase was:
Quote:

Perhaps Diocletian Needed To Store Pompeii Away.
which relates to the layers from first to last:
Quote:

  1. Physical -> Perhaps
  2. Datalink -> Diocletian
  3. Network -> Needed
  4. Transport -> To
  5. Session -> Store
  6. Presentation -> Pompeii
  7. Application -> Away

TCP/IP is only 4 layers, but I didn't focus on it a lot when I took the course.

Data encapsulation is more difficult, and I can't think of any ways to memorize it other than studying a chart, but if you remember the order that the data is converted, then it is much easier to remember which layers each data type is in.
