Need help with school SIS

Hello everyone, my name is William Jones, I'm from the Homeschool Academy of South Jersey. Homeschoolacademysj.com is our current website. I'm trying to find a solution for a student information system. It needs to be easy to use, it needs to include grading, and it needs to include billing. Could this be done in access? It would also need to be able to be remotely accessed from all over. Could you guys please help? I'm on my wits end trying to find something. We're a small, small school trying to help kids who need a last resort at times. Many kids have even been kicked out of public school.

Thank you,
William A. Jones III

And it needs to be secure. Don't forget about that.

Are you looking to have this done? Or are you wanting help with doing it yourself?

It could be done in Access. Although, if it were me... I'd do it in PHP and MySql and make it web-based.

Amen to that. PHP and MYSQL would be my choice too. Have no doubt, it's a big project. I've done something similar (a school testing system) before and they are extremely time consuming.

If your looking for a company or person to do it for you, post it in the job offers forums or go to www.getafreelancer.com or www.rentacoder.com (or even serch your local community)

It won't come cheap though. Don't expect a fast easy solution either. Sorry to say it but it's reality.

Yes, naturally, for something containing information of a sensitive nature, you'll want to use a language where code breaks and suffers from security holes when some flag changes in the interpreter's config file.

He is saying what he wrote. Facebook has already seen that in case you didn't know.

Well what he is saying doesn't make much sense. No language is safe if you don't use it the right way.

I'll admit that Sam's remarks also raise questions in my mind. They're somewhat akin to saying "keep your powder dry." Hell, if you don't know that, don't get into a shooting match. If you DO know that, you're going to murderize your opponents on a rainy day.

Oh: don't ever duel on a dry day. Any schlock with a Dueling Pistol Certification can win.
