Video Editor

I need a video editor like imovie and windows movie maker. The features I need are abilities to cut out parts of the video and ability to add seperate audio. I need something that saves videos in a better quality than windos movie maker does.

The reason: I am making C++ video tutorials for my website, and I don't have a microphone handy so I need to record audio seperately. Besides the capture program I use makes too big output files, so I need an editing program that can also compress the file.

Why don't you try Adobe Premiere Elements? Since you didn't mention free, I look at Premiere and works pretty good. Also, there is Kino if you are running Linux.

I'd recommends trying the demo abd maybe buying:
Adobe Premiere Elements
Pinnacle Studio - Every Easy to Use

Free:
Windows Movie Maker (Get the latest update for it)

And if nothing else, read this article I found for you, should help you a lot.

Good luck.

http://www.jahshaka.org/

Free, open source, cross platform, Realtime editting and effects system.

Not had a chance to give it a whirl yet. while its no sony vegas/digital fusion it looks pretty good for a free solution.

http://www.virtualdub.org/ another essential tool I can't recommend more for processing video.

DaWei, I love the fact that you post nothing that helps at all. I'm amazed, do you make it a point to post in every thread?

And if you update it, you may notice better compression in the wmv format.

I use Sony Vegas for Video Editing. It is brilliant. My recommendation.

Oddly enough, my off-topic posts are as helpful as some purportedly serious on-topic posts. Like, zero is zero, like, doanchano? Awesome!!!!11111

Okay I did forget to mention free. The Windows movie maker update may do if its good enough. I think I may have the most recent. The last time I attempted to update I curroupted it though... And I need something that allows to add audio to video. I am recording my desktop.
