as you know I am currently learning c#, what I would like to know is, would php be easier to learn if I know c#? I plan to learn them both and was wondering if it would make php easier to learn if I know c#. would it?

Knowing any programming language will be benficial when trying to learn another. The syntax is different, and the grammar is too. But since you have the jist of programming, it's like collect stamps.

I really have to agree with this. And while I would say that PHP is a bit closer to C/C++ then it is C# it will still give you a hand in learning PHP.

My C++ transition to PHP took maybe a week, lol. I bought a book and devoured it in 3 days (contract required me to learn PHP quickly) and that was that, now I PHP like a professional ;)

I wish I could do that. I have a book on PHP on my desk right now - I'm just too lazy.

Same here. PHP is very easy to pick up and become proficient at if you have an understanding of C++. I'm not entirely sure on the C# to PHP approach though as I am in the middle of learning C#. The core concepts of languages are all the same for the most part. If you learn one, it is easy to learn others. Just the syntax, etc is a bit different.
